Step 1 – Prayer
Prayer: Discernment is not simply about solving a confusing puzzle, it is essentially an encounter with Jesus Christ. Once we have gotten to know and love Christ, we will recognize His will. Therefore the first step in discernment is to build a strong life of prayer. Make time to go to mass and adoration. It is very important to learn to make time everyday, at least 15 minutes, to pray in silence. For it is in silence that we be able to hear God’s voice, especially in our noisy society when many voices are competing for God’s voice.
