Pope Francis proclaimed 2015 as a Year of Consecrated Life, opening on November 30, 2014, and closing on February 7, 2016, the day of our Archdiocesan Celebration of Consecrated Life. The year also marks the 50th anniversary of Perfectae Caritatis, a decree on religious life, and Lumen Gentium, the Second Vatican Council’s Constitution on the Church.

The purpose of the Year of Consecrated Life is three-fold:
  • To make a grateful remembrance of the recent past
  • To embrace the future with hope
  • To live the present with passion

Every parish should have received the 2015 Year of Consecrated Life Resource Packet. It is comprehensive and useful for pastors and preachers, DREs, teachers and catechists, youth ministers, liturgists and more. Much of the Resource Packet is also available at www.nrvc.net. At resources, click on Vision Vocation Network, then Parish Packet.
