I grew up in Houston, Texas, receiving my undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University in Advertising. During my junior year at Tech, I attended the Raider Awakening. I heard a discernment talk and the nuns told us to keep our minds open to discerning religious life. This flashed me back to when I was altar serving at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton and our pastor asked me repeatedly, to think of becoming a priest. The rest of my college career, I helped with the Diocesan Youth Retreat Team, other Raider Awakenings, altar serving, and various events. I discerned the rest of my college career and after graduation, I moved back to Houston with my family. I got in contact with the pastor at St. John Vianney and later contacted the Office of Vocations. After a year off, during which I worked at Target and helped at Epiphany of the Lord, I was accepted into seminary. My favorite passage from Scripture is Romans 12:1-2 because how can we expect to grow if we do not give ourselves fully to God then how are we to learn and grow with Christ and each other.
