I was born in Houston, Texas to a young couple who had just arrived in the U.S. from the Philippines. My childhood was fi lled with all the joys and trials of growing up in an immigrant family in the suburbs of southwest Houston. After spending a year in Seattle pursuing Pre-Med studies, the Church’s prayers led me to re-evaluate my values and direction in life. Taking a huge and intimidating leap of faith, I joined the archdiocese as a seminarian and have never regretted it since. It has truly been the most joyful and exhilarating experience of my life.
