My name is Truong Son Cao Nguyen, but most people call me Son. I was born in Bien Hoa, Vietnam and my family moved to America when I was four-years-old. I come from a family of seven siblings and I am the youngest in the family. My parents are Catholic and they are active in their church community.
There are many reasons I decided to enter the seminary. One of the reasons was that my parents were loving parents and they always encouraged me to live a religious life. They did this mainly by setting a good example by being involved in our church and showing me love when I most needed it. The second reason is that God has really blessed my family and me through many struggles and successes. Lastly, the reason that really opened me up to God was finding peace and happiness in my heart after visiting St. Joseph Seminary.
Now that I am at St. Joseph on my Journey I feel closer to God and I want to show Him that I am here to serve out of gratitude for all the things that he has blessed me with such as good family, friends, and love. Through my family support and continuing a life of vocation, I will discern God’s calling in my life.
